Yes folks, the newly printed money is having its consequent effect. Compare figures released today with February 2009 figures.

AVERAGE weekly ordinary time earnings for adult full-time employees rose by 1.2 per cent in the three months to May, for an annual rate of 6.1 per cent.

The seasonally adjusted figures gleaned from an Australian Bureau of Statistics survey, show the AWOTE for the private and public sectors combined was $1196.50.

Private sector AWOTE was up 1 per cent in the quarter at $1174.50, seasonally adjusted, for an annual rise of 6.1 per cent.

Public sector AWOTE rose by 0.9 per cent to $1269.30, seasonally adjusted, in the same period for an annual rise of 5.7 per cent.

There was no market forecast for this series.

It's interesting. Public sector wages when measured objectively by the government's own bureau of statistics is nearly 100 bux per week more than the private sector.

To run or invest in a business in Australia (or anhy other so-called liberal-democratic western "democracy") takes grit and gumption. Imagine competing in the labour market for workers with the govt who gets its money from taxes and can out-bid you anytime. What a great LEGAL racket!
