Singapore - A Platonic Republic?

"It Started With Plato" - Daily article at The Ludwig von Mises Institute by S. Harcourt-Rivington

Interesting parallels between what Plato thought and how the modern day city state -- of which Singapore is a noteworthy example -- is created, run and the population "managed" or "controlled" depending on your point of view. What we all might agree upon is how much absolute power is wielded by a central authority.

Note the mention of the "human zoo" as a metaphor for central planning and enslavement of a population.
